I've not noticed any configuration for RNNoise, apart from the trained input model. It only works on 48kHz. Try rubbing a surface near the microphone with your fingers or jangling keys as you are talking for an example that makes a difference. If you toggle the button it reruns the last recording with the new setting so you can replay it and hear the difference.
The feature I've not done is volume equalization, which involves working out local gain to get everyone's voice up to approximately the same volume even if people are speaking at different distances from their microphones.
I use this plugin for VR where the microphone on the headset is in the perfect place about an inch from your mouth to not to have any noise problems.
This works quite well. The only thing is that I didn't understand how to configure RnNoise in this demo. Yes, I can turn it on, but it has very little effect. Yes, there is a little less noise on the test recordings, but they are still quite distinct.
I know that Minecraft mod plasmo voice also uses RNNoise, but in it the noise reduction effect is much more noticeable.
